Asus unveiled new product in its laptop portfolio – namely, the ZenBook 3 at its Zenvolution event at Humble House Taipei on Monday.
Asus aims it straight towards MacBook’s heart with the ZenBook 3 saying it is thinner yet faster than the MacBook. Zenbook 3 features the world’s thinnest fan at 3mm and has an 82 percent screen to body ratio, highest in its entire lineup. It also features a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 panel and Asus claims to have a 9-hour battery life.
The ZenBook 3 (UX390) with an 12.5-inch full hd (1080p) display, Intel Core i5 variant, with 4GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD is priced at $999 (Rs 68,000 approx). The Core i7 variant, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB PCIe x4 SSD is priced at $1,999 (Rs 1,35,000 approx). It weighs in at 910 grams, measures 11.9mm in thickness, 40Wh Li-polymer battery and sports a fingerprint reader with Windows Hello support.
The keyboard is LED backlit and sports a large touchpad with fingerprint sensor on the top right corner. Zenbook 3 sports a quad-speaker Harman Kardon setup and should provide decent audio quality.
Zenbook 3 is coupled with USB type C port and quick charging – where 60 percent charge can be achieved in 49 minutes. It will be available in Royal Blue, Quartz Grey, Rose Gold colours and features a gold-backlit keyboard with twice the key travel of the MacBook.
If you are looking for a portable ultrabook without compromising performance then Asus Zenbook 3 is yet another competitor with the likes of Dell XPS 13, HP Spectre 10, Apple Macbook.
