Xiaomi’s most anticipated flagship Xiaomi Mi 5, has been making quite a news in the mobile arena. The new renders of the phone confirms the design and color options. Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a QHD or 1080p 5.2inch display with 2.5D curved glass in the front and 3D curved glass at the back. Considering the history of Xiaomi’s love for Apple, the location of camera and the flash has been shifted to to top left corner compared to its predecessor Xiaomi Mi 4. The new renders shows that Xiaomi Mi 5 will be available in four color options; white, black, pink, and gold.
Specwise, Xiaomi Mi 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest beast, the Snapdragon 820 CPU coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. Xiaomi Mi 5 will also carry a 20/16 megapixel main camera sensor with dual tone flash and a 8 megapixel selfie camera. The phone will have a large battery of 3800mAh ensuring longer battery life. Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a dual sim functionality, NFC, USB type C with fast charging and world’s smallest & fastest finger print sensor. The phone will be shipped with Marshmallow 6.0 Android version underneath of Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 7.
Xiaomi Mi 5 is supposed to have two varients, Xiaomi Mi 5 with 5.2 inch display and Xiaomi Mi5 plus with 5.5 inch display. The phone will be available in 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB memory options. Xiaomi Mi 5 will carry a price tag of CNY 1,999 ($308 or €283 or Rs20,000 approx.) for the basic and CNY 2,299 ($354 or €326 or Rs 24,000 approx.) for the top model.

I been waiting for this all of 2015 ,let’s hope they can ship out enough 64gb versions an get the EU ROMs built for it ,I will buy 2 of them straight away hopefully they don’t lock the bootloader an still include a rooted dev option ,as this will take on iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 as well asrest of 2016 android flag ships ,I gota redmi note 2 prime to tide me over an for a cheap mid rage this note 2 prime is one great device , thanks for update an quick video looks like galaxy s6 non edge
Hi, Even we have been waiting to get our hands-on on this beast. It has been almost 1.5 years of wait now. Its gonna get launched on 24th January, 2016….Regarding bootloader, we think that’s a right move by Xiaomi to protect integrity of MIUI and protect from theft just like iPhones. But you can also unlock the bootloader’s by checking out the forum of MIUI…. and yes looks like edged screen, wish for Amoled display 🙂 Do share your views on Redmi Note 2 Prime 🙂
