GoPro today took wraps off the company’s first drone, called Karma. Karma comes in very a compact package, you can fold the entire unit which can fit your small backpack. The quadcopter is quipped with a modular 3-axis gimble for camera stabilization. However, you can detach the gimble from the drone and use it handheld as Karma Grip. The Grip has buttons to control the camera’s shutter, modes, and the angle of the gimbal. The drone comes with a controller which has a touchscreen and two joysticks. The plus point is the remote will pair with a smartphone so you can focus on flying while your friend works the camera.

Karma supports the previous versions of GoPro cams the Hero 4 as well as newly announced Hero 5 series.

The GoPro Karma will go on sale from October 23 for $799 (or ₹55,000 approx in India) without camera whereas it will cost you $999 (or ₹68,000 approx in India) with the Hero 5 Session, and $1,099 (or ₹75,000 approx in India) with the Hero 5 Black. Although the availability of GoPro Karma is yet to be announced in India.
